Eun-Me Ahn

Leading artist of Korean performing arts scene, Eun-Me Ahn studied contemporary dance at Ehwa Women’s University in Seoul. She founded Ahn Eun-Me Company in 1988 before moving to New York in 1991. In 2001 moved back to Korea and continued her choreographic practice revisiting classics of her country (“Princess Bari”) or investigating social issues – often working with non-professionals – like generations (“Dancing Grandmothers”), handicap (“Ahnsim Dance”) or relationships between South and North Korea (“North Korea Dance”). Also designing the costumes and the set of her productions, she has been developing a unique visual colorful signature.
