MASTERCLASS FOR PROFESSIONALS WITH VALERIA GALLUCCIO/CIE MARIE CHOUINARD

An encounter with Compagnie Marie Chouinard’s creative universe. The class begins with exercises that awaken the breath, voice and mobility of the spine, in order to deepen one’s internal connectivity. This allows the participants to harness their energy and express it in multiple ways. The class will then touch on certain repertoire elements in connection with the pieces that are presently touring.

Valeria Galluccio studied ballet with Annalisa Cernese in Italy. For three years, as part of the Venice Biennale, she danced the works of Ismaël Ivo as main performer before joining, in 2011, COMPAGNIE MARIE CHOUINARD. In 2015, she is named as best Italian dancer abroad by the magazine Danza&Danza.

WORKSHOP WITH ADRIENN HÓD/ HODWORKS

The workshop led by Adrienn Hód will be focussed on structured improvisation. After an intense warm up, participants are invited to work in solos, couples and smaller groups with the choreographic layers in the work of the choreographer, to discover physicality and experience self-liberation of it. If participants are open, tasks based on voice-work and text-based improvisation can also become part of the workshop programme.

As an innovative voice in Hungary who is not afraid working on the unknown and taboo, Adrienn Hód in 2007 founded the group Hodworks for proactive artists bringing along their own methods. Her trademark: The human body – without media, without a stage set. In the European network Aerowaves, their most recent works ranked among the 20 outstanding contemporary productions.

IMPULS

DURATION: APPROX. 60 MINUTES

In the frame of a workshop presentation, students of the technical and vocational college impuls  Bremen present various improvisations under the heading “Effort – Harmony – Pattern” with elements of the Laban Bartenieff method that they developed under the choreographic direction of Malamatenia Kamenidou. Their dance and movement studies give insights into the various training areas of the school whose holistic concept is based on, among others, the teachings of Space Harmony, Effort Actions and the Bartenieff Fundamentals.

Impuls e.V. offers training in the technical and vocational college, advanced training in the associated institute, occupational health promotion as well as a wide range of courses for persons of all ages.

The training centre is directed by the movement pedagogue Inge Deppert, who founded it in 1984. She also initiated the workshop festival ‘Tanz Herbst’, from which the international festival TANZ Bremen evolved.

ON THE VALUE OF DANCE ²

FRI, 24 MARCH, 10:00 - 4:00 P.M.

SCHWANKHALLE

In February 2015, TANZ Bremen along with steptext dance project and the Dachverband

Tanz Deutschland brought a number of actors of the Bremer dance scene together, thus lighting a beacon for a new togetherness and a joint cultural-political offensive. The foundation of the Tanzinitiative Bremen, a position paper, the dance ensemble expert meeting and the Bremer Tanztage 2016 were the initial results, with which the cultural-political dialogue was also expanded beyond Bremen.

In the one-day workshop with dance professionals and cultural promoters, a transregional network for dance in north-western Germany is to be initiated. With a view to the new dance promotion programmes of cities, federal states and the government, the question is raised: Which co-operation projects can be established to further develop high-quality dance?
