”…deeply vital and tragicomic …” TerpsiChore
Language loves assertions. In language, we can be anything: a British model – or an international drug baron. Dance, however, reveals something different: disruptions, pain, needs. In
Animal Lost the masked performers balance between pure being and the striving for identity and fixed attributions. Their cheeky vocabulary drawing from contemporary techniques
and table dancing is inserted in a tragicomic world imbued with fantasies and repression – to then burst with relish in post-Dadaist cascades of words.
They have been producing works together since 2005: Yossi Berg, who danced with Batsheva and the Physical Theatre of DV8, and Oded Graf of the Kibbutz Company.
In 2008, the magazine Ballettanz named them among the most remarkable young choreography talents of the season. They now work for major festivals such as Montpellier Danse and the American Dance
Festival.
