Struwwelpeter
After the children book of Heinrich Hoffmann
World premiere
Length: 60 minutes
5+
In Struwwelpeter (Slovenly Peter) everyone has their own quirks: the Thumb-Sucker, Soupy-Kaspar and Fidgety Philip. But wherever there’s a quirk there’s also a skill. Hanna
Hegenscheidt brings the fairy-tale characters to the stage – and lets the children play along. They watch, imitate, and test their limits. And what they notice is that not everyone is the same.
What does one like about the other, and what not? And how can one learn to value and love one’s difference?
Hanna Hegenscheidt danced with Reinhild Hoffmann and Robert Wilson before establishing herself as a dance director in 2004. Her pieces, which have toured through Europe and the
United States, are created in her own studio in Berlin. At the Städtische Bühnen Münster she develops pieces with young migrants. In Berlin she regularly teaches and does choreographies at
schools for the project TanzZeit.
